what is integrative medicine?

Integrative medicine combines natural remedies with conventional Western medicine in order to simultaneously treat mind, body, and spirit. Geared toward the promotion of health and the prevention of illness, it embraces holistic therapies and the innate healing capability of the human body.

Integrative medicine does not reject conventional treatments. Rather, certified integrative practitioners are specially trained to appropriately evaluate and utilize the benefits of each modality, based on evidence-based research, in order to facilitate healing in the least invasive way.
